Thiladhunmathi

Thiladhunmathi is a geographical name for the northern part of the elongated largest atoll in the Maldives , Thiladhunmathi-Miladhunmadulu . The southern part of this atoll is called Miladhunmadulu . The border between the two atoll parts runs roughly along the latitude 6 ° 29'N.

This part of the atoll is divided into two administrative districts:

  1. Haa Alif (Thiladhunmathi Uthuruburi)
  2. Haa Dhaalu (Thiladhunmathi Dhekunuburi)

The main island of this part of the atoll is Kulhudhuffushi .

22,945 people live on Thiladhunmathi (2006 census).

Occasionally the name Thiladhunmathi is also used for the total atoll.
