The Thillenvogtei in Wahl (Luxembourg) and in Rindschleiden is a village museum . It presents the working and living habits around 1900 with a focus on agriculture, handicrafts, housekeeping and school and offers children-oriented activities in particular to "look, listen, upak, fill, try, eat, eat" (look, hear, touch , feel, taste, smell, taste), like baking bread, washing clothes on the washboard and threshing grain.

Exhibition space

In the museum there are rooms of a school, a carpenter's shop, a cobbler's shop, a saddlery and a bakery. An exhibition provides information about the budget in the museum. The “Living Country Museum” (Musée rural vivant) is open all year round by appointment. Children can help with the potato harvest, apple picking, threshing and baking bread.

history

Documents from 1688 were found in the attic of the Thillenvogtei farm in Wahl. There it says: "Thielen Vogtey zu Wahll under the Hursten house there is the Everlingen house with sheep, frondt, serviced Hatt scheuer, stable backhauss and manure place in front of the thur ...." The name Thillenvogtei thus comes from the feudal era and followed forgotten about the French Revolution. The name "Thillenpesch, Thillengart" is still noted on the cadastral plan of Wahl.

organization

The museum is run by Jean Ney and his daughter Elisabeth Ney.
