Thomas Kiehl (born in Hamburg ) is a German writer .

life and work

Thomas Kiehl is a lawyer and worked in business for a long time before he went into business for himself to have more time to write.

In 2009, Kiehl won 3rd place in the German Short Crime Prize for his short story Sudoku-Man as part of the crime festival Tatort Eifel .

His short story As before was filmed in 2011 under the direction of Michael Schäfer. He published his first thriller The Ant Woman in 2019 with Benevento Verlag. In this work he deals with Luhmann 's system theory in a fictional manner . Systemic processes in our society are critically examined on the basis of the phenomenon of fear . The ant colony is used again and again in the novel to illustrate this .

Today Kiehl lives in Cologne.
