Thomas Kneib

Thomas Kneib (* 1976 ) is a German statistician .

Thomas Kneib studied at the University of Munich , where he received his doctorate in 2006 with the thesis Mixed Model Based Inference in Structured Additive Regression and habilitated in 2009 with the thesis Statistical Modeling Based on Structured Additive Regression . From 2009 to 2011 he was professor for applied statistics at the University of Oldenburg . Since 2011 he has held a chair for statistics at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Göttingen . From 2016 to 2018 he was spokesperson for the Göttingen Graduate School of Social Science and is spokesperson for the DFG - Graduate School 1644 Scaling Problems in Statistics .
