Thomas T. Müller

Thomas Tassilo Müller (born October 24, 1974 in Leinefelde ) is a German historian . He has been director of the Mühlhausen museums since 2006, and chairman of the Thomas Müntzer Society since 2016 .

Live and act

Müller studied Middle and Modern History, Prehistory and Early History, Art History and Archival Studies in Göttingen, Erfurt and Potsdam. He passed his master's examination in 2001 with Ernst Schubert in Göttingen. From 1999 to 2005, Müller was in charge of the Heilbad Heiligenstadt city archive. Since 2006 he has been director of the Mühlhausen museums. In 2016, Müller received his doctorate from Michael Rothmann in Hanover with a thesis on early reformation and the peasant war in the vicinity of the imperial city of Mühlhausen. Thomas T. Müller has been chairman of the international Thomas Müntzer Society since 2016 , and in 2017 he was appointed to the Historical Commission for Thuringia.

Müller is the author or editor of several monographs, anthologies and around 70 essays on the history of the Reformation, the history of pilgrimages, the peasant war and the history of the Thuringian and Eichsfeld regions. Guest lectures have taken him to Great Britain, Korea, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria, Russia, Romania, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Poland.
