Thomas Trautmann

Thomas Trautmann (born November 7, 1957 ) is a German educator.

Life

From 1977 to 1981 he studied chemistry, biology, psychology and educational science ( diploma thesis on a topic of organic chemistry (cyclization of deoxycarbohydrazines)). From 1981 to 1992 he was a teacher in grades 5–12. From 1992 to 1997 he was a research associate at the Institute for Elementary School Pedagogy and Childhood Research at the Erfurt University of Education (educational science foundations, early childhood education, childhood research). Since 2001 he has held a C 4 professorship for educational science with special consideration of elementary school pedagogy and elementary school didactics at the University of Hamburg .

His main research interests are development and upbringing in early childhood, beginning of school and initial lessons, development in transitions, elementary school pedagogy and didactics, integration and promotion of gifted children, play pedagogy and communication in pedagogical fields.
