Thomas Wulff (born August 24, 1953 in Helsinki ) is a Finnish-Swedish writer , poet and spokesman for the Swedish Writers' Association of Finland .

Life

Wulff studied Swedish literature, philosophy and English philology . He began to write at the age of 17 to 18. When he was 20 years old, his first book was published. He was inspired by the progressive rock music of the time, for example the Bob Dylans . Wulff recognized that something could be achieved with words and that the elimination of injustices in the world could be supported with poetry. He is a member of the KAIN poetry group , which has performed in Helsinki, Åbo, Mariehamn, Karis, Malmö, Moscow and St. Petersburg, among others. He worked on the editorial staff of Fågel Fenix in the 1970s and Otid in the 1980s. Since 1998 Wulff has been the spokesman for the Swedish Writers' Association of Finland.

Lately Wulff wrote mostly prose and dramas . Poetry only played a role in his youth. After he was married and had children, he stopped writing poetry.

In the novel En hjälte för vår tid (“A hero of our time”, first part of a planned trilogy published in 2006 ), a lesser-known and enigmatic human fate of the orientalist and revolutionary Ivarlassys is presented with empathy and imagination. The reader is described in detail his life and the dawning revolutionary currents in Helsinki and Baku . Eugene Schauman and Bobrikow , Trotsky and Lenin cross the hero's path in Helsinki in the early 20th century, without his realizing what influence they will have on him.
