Thomas von Lüdinghausen (born October 23, 1976 in Cuxhaven ) is a German flautist.

Life

At the age of 12 he began to play the flute and, after successfully passing the entrance exam, studied with Robert Aitken at the State University of Music Freiburg im Breisgau . Later he switched to Ulf-Dieter Schaaff at the "Franz Liszt" Music Academy in Weimar .

He began his career as an orchestral flutist while studying in the Jeunesses Musicales World Orchestra . Further stations were engagements with the Duisburg Philharmonic , Düsseldorf Symphony and the Staatskapelle Berlin .

After winning a few auditions, he decided to join the Stuttgart Philharmonic and has been the deputy first solo flutist there ever since. He gives concerts as a chamber musician and soloist regularly in Germany, Europe and Asia. Since 2006 he has been leading a flute class at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts .
