Thoralf Hagen

Thoralf Hagen (born September 22, 1887 in Oslo , † January 7, 1979 ibid) was a Norwegian helmsman in rowing , who won two Olympic bronze medals in 1920.

Thoralf Hagen from Christiania Roklub was featured four times at the 1920 Olympic Games in Antwerp . As the helmsman of the aft of the Stavanger Roklub , he steered his boat to the lead victory over the boat from Czechoslovakia. In the semifinals, the boat lost to the British eighth, but was faster than the French boat, which lost the other semifinals to the US eighth. That is why the Norwegians received the bronze medal behind the Americans and the British.

On the day of the eighth semi-final, but three hours earlier, Thoralf Hagen had already steered the four-man with helmsman from his Christiania Roklub to victory over Belgium and thus to the final. On the day of the final, the Swiss won ahead of the US four and the Norwegians.
