Succession to the throne (Swaziland)

The throne in Swaziland brings the King of Swaziland in lineage of Dlamini III. emerged. The succession is determined by the Königsrat ( English Royal Council determined) after several basic conditions.

It must be the Queen Mother's only male descendant . In addition, the king must come from the lineage of the Dlamini, the queen mother may not. The king always has the official name as Nkosi Dlamini , where Nkosi means king and Dlamini is the family name. The absolute state power in Swaziland always comes from the king as Ngwenyama ( German  lion ) and the queen mother as Ndlovukazi (German elephant ).

According to royal tradition, the king is expected to elect several women from all ethnic groups in order to maintain national unity.
