Thule Group is a manufacturer of transport systems founded in Sweden in 1942.

The headquarters of the Thule Group are located in Malmö (Sweden). The Thule Group employs over 2200 people at more than 50 production and sales locations around the world.

The range includes car luggage racks , including basic carriers , roof boxes, awnings for caravans and the like. Motorhomes, bicycle and ski racks as well as roof baskets, outdoor & sports backpacks, luggage, child transport solutions, bicycle trailers , ladders, craftsman accessories and various accessories such as lashing straps .

history

Thule roof rack

Erik Thulin began in 1942 with the manufacture of products for Swedish fishermen ; the Thule brand was born. The first product appeared in 1955. It was a headlight protection grille. The first ski rack followed in 1962, and in 1964 the first roof rack with a basket.

In 1977 the TB 11 Skibox came onto the market and helped the company to international success. In 1992 Thule bought the German Jetbag GmbH in Neumarkt / Oberpfalz from eco Kunststoff GmbH & Co. KG. In 1997 the company became the world's largest manufacturer of roof boxes.

From 2000 onwards, a number of other products were added to the range, such as luggage bags and laptop bags, camera bags, snow chains and bicycle bags, which are marketed under the Case Logic brand.

Thule backpacks

In 2011, Thule acquired the Canadian manufacturer Chariot Carriers Inc., which had specialized in the development and manufacture of multifunctional child carriers.
