Thumbshirn (noble family)
Thumbshirn , also Thomser , Thumser , Thumshorn , Thomashirn o. Ä. Is an old, extinct noble family from the Vogtland and the Landgraviate of Thuringia , which later also settled in the Margraviate of Meissen .
history
There are different, sometimes controversial and contradicting views about the origin and the oldest representatives of the sex. The male line died out in the first half of the 18th century.

- Wilhelm von Thumbshirn († 1551), electoral Saxon colonel and actor in the Schmalkaldic War
- Wolfgang Conrad von Thumbshirn (1604–1667), negotiator and co-signer of the Peace of Westphalia, and from 1653 chancellor of the Princely Saxon Altenburg region
