Thury-Nussberg steam car
The Thury-Nussberg steam car from 1877 is an early automobile .
René Thury and his fellow student Nussberg were apprentices at the Société Genevoise d'Instruments de Physique . In 1877 they decided to develop a steam car . It was a tricycle with the single wheel in the front. The two larger rear wheels were powered. The steam engine had two cylinders with a 70 mm bore and 85 mm stroke and made 12 hp . The maximum speed was 50 km / h.
The vehicle has been preserved and was on view in 1999 at the Jean Tua Auto Museum in Geneva .
