The Tiantai Shan ( Chinese 天台山 , Pinyin Tiāntái Shān , W.-G. T'ien-t'ai shan - "Heavenly Terrace Mountain") or Tiantai Mountain is located in the east of the Chinese province of Zhejiang in the area of the Tiantai districts , Ninghai and Juhua . Its most important mountain is the Huading Shan华 顶 山 with 1098 meters, the highest the Cangshan Ding with 1113 meters.
It is known for its numerous Buddhist monasteries, including the headquarters of one of the most important Mahayana schools of East Asian Buddhism ( Tiantai zong )
