Ticket fee

Ticket fee is an umbrella term for the various fees that are charged when selling tickets, e.g. B. for concerts, musicals or similar events, and added to the raw price of the tickets as charged by the organizer. The organizer is often involved in these fees, but only rarely communicates this openly.

Typical ticket fees are:

  • Advance booking fee (VVK fee): This is withheld by the advance booking office and sometimes represents the only earnings of the advance booking office. It is between 6 and 15 percent of the final ticket price.
  • System fee : This is charged by the operator of the ticket system and can e.g. B. between 0.50 and 2 euros.
  • Service provider fee : This fee goes to the service provider, i.e. the company that sets ("programs") an event in the ticket system. This is often not done directly by the organizer, but is done by companies that have the appropriate systems.
  • Booking fee (also known as a processing fee or service fee): Another fee charged by the ticket agency . This can e.g. B. be 1 to 2 euros. A well-known example is the booking fee, as charged by providers for bookings made over the phone or online. Other ticket agencies also often charge such a fee in order to improve the margin on ticket sales.

Refunding is not a ticket fee in the strict sense of the word . U. to be paid back to the organizer by the advance booking office as a reimbursement of the advance booking fee, e.g. B. as an advertising fee. A refund levied by the organizer therefore reduces the income of the advance booking office accordingly.

The large number of ticket fees often leads to confusion and confusion. In addition, at various advance booking offices u. U. different prices have to be paid.
