Tim Gallagher

Tim Gallagher is an American wildlife photographer, editor, and non-fiction author. Since 1990 he has been editor-in-chief of Living Bird at the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology .

On February 27, 2004, he rediscovered the ivory woodpecker in Arkansas, which had already been considered extinct, and which he describes in his book "The Grail Bird". This was preceded by several trips to the areas where the ivory woodpecker had been seen and interviews with people who had observed the bird.

Tim Gallagher is a professional wildlife photographer and completed his training as a journalist with a BA from California State University. At the same university he obtained a master's degree in English.
