Time Bandits (band)

The Time Bandits are a Dutch pop band around singer and guitarist Alides Hidding , which enjoyed international success in the 1980s .

history

The band was founded in 1981 by Alides Hidding, who had previously achieved success with the solo single Hollywood Seven . The releases of the band, which musically moved between funk , pop and dance , were successful in the Netherlands as well as in Germany and France, Australia and New Zealand and the USA. In 1989 the band broke up and Hidding moved to Los Angeles , where he worked as a songwriter for Jennifer Rush and The Nylons .

Since the 1990s , the band has been performing regularly in the Netherlands, with the original members no longer playing, apart from Hidding. The current line-up of the band is:

  • Alides Hidding (vocals and guitar)
  • Marco Luchtenberg (keyboards and vocals)
  • Guus Strijbosch (bass and vocals)
  • Olaf Noordanus (drums)
