Time Sport International ( spelling TIME) is a French bicycle and bicycle component manufacturer from Vaulx-Milieux  in the Isère department in south-west France. In German-speaking countries, Time is particularly known for its Time Atac pedal system . The company was a pioneer in making the first carbon frames.

history

Time was founded in 1987 by Roland Cattin and initially manufactured system pedals. The aim was to develop a pedal system that enables the driver to get on and off very easily and to respond to his biomechanical conditions. In 1993 Time expanded its product range and began manufacturing frames from composite materials. The Resin Transfer Molding  (RTM) process (form of injection molding ) was used for this. The frames and forks are manufactured in our own factory in Vaulx-Milieu  near Lyon. Fibers are woven into seamless stockings on special machines, which are then inserted into the production molds. then the resin is injected into the closed mold (RTM). Time developed a liquid crystalline polymer that is used in their frame construction. Time is one of the few frame manufacturers who manufacture their carbon fabrics themselves, which sets it apart from most other bicycle brands that have their fiber frames made in Southeast Asia .

Products

Time manufactures MTB, racing bike and cyclocross frames from carbon and also offers complete bikes. The company developed its own fastener for click system pedals. The pedal bodies of the Time Atac series are made of composite material and have sealed bearings.
