Timo Purschke

Timo Purschke (born January 16, 1981 in Berlin ) is a German water polo player .

Timo Purschke played as a teenager for Wasserfreunde Spandau 04 , with whom he became German youth champion five times. In 1999 he played in the Bundesliga team and became German champion. In 2001 Purschke moved to ASC Duisburg , with whom he was German runner-up several times, most recently in 2008.

Timo Purschke played in 78 international matches (as of July 12, 2008). In 2003 Purschke was sixth with the national team at the European Championships. Purschke also played in the qualifying tournament for the 2008 Olympic Games . Purschke is not one of the 13 players in the Olympic squad, but as a substitute for the center position he takes part in the preparation so that he could move up in the event of an emergency.
