Tingmannaleid

Tingmannaleid was a great measure of length in Iceland . It was the so-called day trip, which had deviations depending on the terrain. The mile can be set at 24,000 feet (Rhineland) to about 0.3138495 meters .

  • 1 Tingmannaleid = 5 miles (Danish = 7.5325 kilometers ) = 37.6625 kilometers

The measure was also used in seafaring and here the nautical mile was the basis.

  • 1 Tingmannaleid = 3 miles (Danish lake = 1.852 kilometers) = 5.558 kilometers
