Tlaquahuitl

Tlaquahuitl is a measure of length of the Central American Acolhua people .

For the calculation of base areas in rough terrain the Acolhua use as a measure of length to Tlaquahuitl, which is about 2.5 m long. A vertical line stands for a tlaquahuitl, 20 tlaquahuitl are represented by a filled circle.

In addition to the number, fractions of a tlaquahuitl were also used. An arrow marked 1/2 Tlaquahuitl, the hand 3/5 and a bone 1/5. These partial lengths are used when an edge did not exactly correspond to an integral multiple of a Tlaquahuitl.
