To4ka meeting

To4ka-Treff (Russian, read: Totschka for meeting point ) is the German and Russian language youth portal of the German-Russian Youth Exchange Foundation in Hamburg and the Goethe Institute of the Eastern Europe / Central Asia region.

The youth portal is a project by young people for young people and is intended to be a place for virtual exchange, communication and networking. Above all, it is intended to expand and simplify the possibilities of German-Russian contact. To4ka-treff is bilingual, so that all information about the other culture is accessible even without a sound knowledge of the language: Russian articles are translated into German and vice versa. The authors write and report in their respective mother tongue.

Beginnings

The official starting shot for the youth portal was given on March 25th, 2008 in Moscow and symbolically designed with video bridges to Perm and Hamburg. The final launch of the youth portal to4ka-treff took place on June 20, 2008.

aims

As a youth portal, to4ka-treff wants to help intensify the exchange between young Russians, Russian-speaking youth from Eastern Europe and Central Asia and young people in Germany, to encourage personal encounters and to strengthen them sustainably. The “meeting point” for young people, their texts, images, audios and videos is the Internet.

Content

  • To4ka-treff provides information on language, culture, travel and everyday life in Germany and Russia, completely bilingual.
  • The online community guarantees networking on the Internet as well as sustainable before, during and after an exchange. Participation and design is the focus!
  • Various bilingual blogs are available on to4ka-treff and underline the mobility of the youth portal. Starting with longer stays abroad or trips to exciting everyday events between East and West - the to4ka bloggers are always there and report promptly. They document, comment and provide impressions from the other culture.
  • An interactive project exchange is also integrated into the website, which enables the posting of project requests and offers in Germany and Russia. In addition, to4ka users can also post individual inquiries about friendships by letter or e-mail, internships, internships or volunteer services.
  • The heart of to4ka-treff is a regularly changing German or Russian top topic. The most diverse aspects of German and / or Russian culture are highlighted and processed in various formats as part of the top topic.
  • to4ka-treff provides a colorful range of topics and activities that convey that getting to know the other culture is fun and encourages you to enter into a mutual dialogue.

To4ka training

To4ka trainings are workshops for young people from Germany and Russia, in which they learn journalistic tools and can test what they have learned. These are particularly important because to4ka-treff wants to bring young people together in real life and encourage cooperative encounters. The mutual exchange results in a multitude of contributions in different formats that reflect the different German-Russian facets of a motif.

The to4ka trainings and workshops take place in cooperation with the youth press Germany and various partners in Russia.
