The youth press Germany e. V. - Federal Association of Young Media Makers (JPD) is a German youth media organization.

Areas of activity, projects and collaborations

As an amalgamation of 16 national youth media associations, the Jugendpresse Deutschland coordinates transnational tasks such as the nationwide uniform youth press card or the school newspaper competition of the federal states. She also advises budding journalists on training and legal issues and acts as the publisher of books and magazines that deal with youth media work. In some cases, the association also organizes seminars, press trips and larger events for its members, such as the nationwide youth media days, the youth media workshop in the German Bundestag and the Youth Media Convention .

The ongoing offers of the association include the publication of the event newspaper politikorange , the mobile media academy (flexible workshops on the topics of media competence and school newspaper work) and the Internet platform Jugendmedien.de , on which young media makers use their own image material under the terms of a Creative Commons - Offer license to other youth media.

In May 2008 the German-Russian language youth portal To4ka-treff was launched together with YN Press Russia in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut Moscow and the German-Russian Youth Exchange Foundation.

It is the largest member association of the European Youth Press and, in cooperation with other members, organizes regular reporting trips and exchange programs in other European countries. In addition, the association is a member of the National Print Media Initiative and the federal network for civic engagement .

The work of the youth press in Germany is recognized as non-profit . She will u. a. from the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs and on projects from the Federal Agency for Civic Education financial support.

structure

The youth press Germany is the umbrella organization of 16 regional youth media associations. As such, the youth press is responsible for coordinating the nationwide work and the nationwide dissemination of information. The youth press has no influence on regional work or the club structures of the individual regional associations. The work that arises is organized via mailing lists, work meetings, project groups and an office in Berlin with full-time staff.

Anja Reschke , Thomas Krüger , Ulrich Wickert , Thomas Leif , Volker Herres and Klaus Hurrelmann sit on the board of trustees of the youth press in Germany .
