The Youth Press Austria (JPÖ) is a youth media organization founded in 2004 and sees itself as an umbrella organization for youth-owned media that are produced and published in Austria . She is a member of the European Youth Press , a European umbrella organization for youth journalism.

Areas of activity and projects

The association has been issuing a nationwide uniform youth press card since 2012 . The back of the ID card is also the European Youth Press Card and is valid in member countries of the European Youth Press . It was conceived together with Junge Medien Schweiz .

As a member of the European Youth Press, the youth media association also organizes, in cooperation with other members, regular report trips and exchange programs in other European countries.

In February 2018, the youth press Austria submitted an application for an Erasmus + project. The funding application of € 51,025.00 was accepted by the EU.

The project lasted from May 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018. Salzburg and Graz were chosen as the event locations. Acting chairman Roman Möseneder acted as project manager. The European Youth Press and the International Center for New Media supported the project.

In 2019 Moseneder switched to politics and resigned as chairman, which is why the board of directors was elected on February 28, 2020. It was Antonio AC Morelli confirmed as the new chairman.
