Toccadille

Toccadille (French) or Toc for short , other spellings are Tokkadille (German) and Toccateglio (Italian), also called Tavole reale or Tablas reales (Spanish), is a board game for two people. It is a variant of the backgammon game, the rules of which differ from normal backgammon .

regulate

The game is played in a similar way to the backgammon variant puff . In contrast to normal backgammon, all stones are initially outside of the game board with a total of 24 tongues, which is divided into quarters of 6 tongues. One player plays with red and the other with black pieces. Both players roll 2 dice. Whoever rolls the highest number starts. The tongues 1–6 are the 1st quarter for red , from there he moves over the tongue 12 into the opposing half to the tongues 13 to 24. The tongues 24-19 are the first quarter for black, he's pulling in the opposite direction. At the beginning all stones have to be placed in the first quarter of your own field before the stones can be moved on. As long as the insertion is not completed, no further moves may be made. Throws red z. B. with one die 5 and with the other 3 eyes, then he places one stone on tongue 5 and one on tongue 3.

Double

If a double is thrown , the number of pips on each die is simply set as in a normal throw. For example, if you roll 4 twice, you can only move 4 spaces twice and not four times as in normal backgammon. For this, Tocadille rolls the dice again after every double.

Pulling the stones

Several stones may not be placed on top of each other, the so-called ribbon, on the own side of the bet. Exceptions are the prongs 12 and 13, the so-called huck prongs.

Any number of stones can be placed on these hicks, but there must be at least 2 pieces and not just a single stone (blot). A Hucke can only be occupied by one band at the beginning.

The player is generally not allowed to step on the huck on the opposing half (the foreign huck). If he rolls a number that would require him to occupy the opponent's huck, he may subtract one eye from each die and move to his own huck, but only if he cannot get into his own hack with any other stone.

In Toccadille, stones that are hit are not removed from the board, but are marked with marks (mostly chips or coins are used here). If you hit a single opposing stone, it remains in its position and a marker is placed at the foot of the first point. For each further captured opponent's stone, the marker is moved one point further.

As with the puff, several opposing stones can be captured with one move. Then the corresponding points can be marked by dragging the mark by the corresponding number of points.

Whoever reaches the 12th point first with his mark is the winner. If the opponent has not yet made it past the 6th point, the win counts twice. If the opponent has not even gotten past the 3rd point, the win counts three times, and if he has no mark on the board, four times.
