Tofana is the name of a rock tower in the western Harz .

It is located on the left, western side of the Okertal ( Okertalsperre towards Oker ) in the area of ​​the Eagle Cliffs , is mainly oriented to the east and approx. 30 m high. It consists of gray to black colored, rounded and coarse crystalline granite.

The rock was opened up for sport climbing , exposed and is looked after by IG Climbing Lower Saxony. Several climbing routes have been set up, but in general a separate protection is required, e.g. B. with wedges and friends required. Climbing is prohibited on part of the south side.
