Tomás Margalef

Tomás Agustín Margalef Dolara (born November 17, 1977 in Paysandú ) is a Uruguayan cyclist .

The 1.74 meter tall Margalef is the nephew of Miguel Margalef . At the 59th edition of the Vuelta Ciclista del Uruguay stage race in 2002, he was seventh in the overall standings in the ranks of the Alas Rojas (SL) team . The following year he took third place in the overall standings at the Vuelta al Chana . In the same year Margalef was part of the Uruguayan team at the Pan American Games in Santo Domingo . He was also part of Uruguay's squad at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. In the local competition he finished 10th in the two-man team driving (Madison), together with Milton Wynants . In 2005 he celebrated a stage win on the 6th stage of the Vuelta Ciclista del Uruguay .

The overall victory at the Vuelta del Litoral 2011 and a stage victory each in the Doble Melo - Río Branco race in 2012 , which he finished second in the overall standings, and in the 2012 edition of the Vuelta al Chana are also on his books. In 2013 he is the director of the Esuela de Ciclismo del Velódromo "Milton Wynants" cycling school .
