Tomato salad (song)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The tomato salad Song is a children's song , the children, the principle of polymetric intended to bring.

The song consists of eight 6/8 bars . The melody begins with a prelude on beat six, its final note falls on beat one of the eighth measure. The text consists exclusively of the word tomato salad , the five syllables of which are sung repeatedly as a series of eighth notes.

Every syllable that falls on count one is stressed , the rest are unstressed. The difficulty lies in the fact that the word tomato salad is not emphasized on the second and fifth syllables as usual, but on constantly changing syllables. The alienation of the original word is reinforced by the fact that the final consonant T is connected with the identical initial sound. Another special feature is the sequence of the unevenly distributed three different vowels OAEAA, all of which are evoked by simple consonants (TMTSL). According to this scheme, instead of to | ma | ten | sa | lat , one could sing analogous ( nonsense ) words such as Ka | tho | den | ar | rak .

The chord scheme for accompanying purposes based on the three main chords is (specified per measure): IVVI-IV-IVI (example in C major: CGGCFCGC).
