Tongjiang (Bazhong)

Tongjiang ( 通 江 县 , Tōngjiāng Xiàn ) is a district of the prefecture -level city of Bazhong in the Chinese province of Sichuan . In 1999 it had 703,070 inhabitants.

The site of the former headquarters of the Fourth Front Army of the Red Army ( Hongsi-Fangmianjun Zongzhihuibu jiuzhi ), the Thousand Buddha Rock Caves of Tongjiang ( Tongjiang Qianfo yanshiku ) from the time of the Tang Dynasty and the stone inscription slogans of the Red Army in Tongjiang ( 1933–1934) ( Tongjiang Hongjun shike biaoyu qun ) are on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China .
