Hollow clay plate
The hollow clay slab (also called hourdis ) is an artificially produced brick made of fired clay . The designation and use of hollow clay panels is regulated in DIN 278 .
features
The hollow clay slab can be used in a variety of ways, ranging from installation in lightweight partition walls and in hourdis ceilings to plaster supports between rafters . They are seldom used to build tiled stoves or wall heating .
The hollow clay plate has a square shape and has hollow spaces in the longitudinal direction. The ends on both sides can be bevelled at a 60 ° angle. Due to the cavities in the plate, the brick has almost no sound and heat insulating properties.
The standard distinguishes between the following designations:
| Short name | Usage | Usage examples |
|---|---|---|
| HD | H ohlziegel in D corners | Ceiling insert between ceiling beams or rafters |
| HV | H ohlziegel for V erbundtafeln | Precast walls |
| HW | H ohlziegel for W andtafeln | Precast walls |
| HT | H ohlziegel for light T partition walls | Partition walls without sound or thermal insulation requirements |
