Tony Bromell

Tony Bromell (* 1932 in Limerick ) is an Irish politician and former Senator in the Seanad Éireann .

Bromell was born in Thomondgate , Limerick in 1932 . He was a member of Limerick City Council for 17 years and was mayor of the city from 1982 to 1983. On December 19, 1988, Bromell was elected to the Seanad Éireann for the Fianna Fáil . The by-election had become necessary after the death of Senator Jack Daly .

Bromell was married to the singer Áine Ní Thuathaigh from 1961 until her death. In 2006 he published his autobiography Rian Mo Chos ar Ghaineamh an tSaoil (German: "The trace of my feet on the sand of life").
