Toomas Annus

Toomas Annus (born October 5, 1960 in Kohtla-Järve ) is an Estonian entrepreneur and investor. According to the press, Toomas Annus is the richest person in Estonia with an estimated fortune of around 1.5 billion Estonian crowns .

education

Toomas Annus attended school in Kohtla-Järve. From 1975 he studied at the local vocational school for construction and mechanical engineering . In 1984 he graduated from the Polytechnic Institute (TPI) in Tallinn with a degree in industrial and civil engineering . He then completed advanced training courses for managers in Sweden .

Annus then worked in a fishing kolkhoz , from 1987 to 1989 in the central administration of the Estonian Student Building Brigade (Eesti Üliõpilaste Ehitusmalev) and from 1989 to 1991 in the Estonian building administration for the collective farm .

Entrepreneur

When Estonian regained independence, Annus went into the private sector. In 1991 he became head of the construction company Merko Ehitus AS and in 1997 chairman of the supervisory board. Today he is the majority shareholder of the company and a member of the board of the Estonian Building Entrepreneurs Association (Eesti Ehitusettevõtjate Liit) . Due to the construction boom in the Baltic states, his construction companies are among the most successful in the region.

Private life

Toomas Annus is married and has two daughters and a son. He lives withdrawn from the public in Estonia.
