Top 12 (women) 2008/09

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Top 12 2008/09 was the seventh French team championship in women's chess .

Champion was the Club de Clichy-Echecs-92 , while the defending champion Club de Bischwiller would be purely sporting even relegated as second last Groupe A and only thanks to two withdrawals reached yet in the league. From the National I were the Club de Montpellier Echecs , Cercle d'Echecs de Strasbourg , the Club de Echiquiers Berry-Sologne and the Club de Reims Echec et Mat ascended. In purely sporting terms, Montpellier, Strasbourg and Berry-Sologne achieved relegation, while Reims, together with Bischwiller, the Club de Lutèce Echecs and the Club de Marseille Echecs, should have been relegated. However, since Montpellier and Berry-Sologne withdrew their teams, Bischwiller and Reims still remained in the top 12. For the reported team squad see team squad of the top 12 (women) 2008/09 .

Game dates

The preliminary round took place from January 23 to 25, 2009 and was held centrally in Montpellier . The final round was played on June 27th and 28th in Villandry .

mode

The twelve participating clubs were divided into two groups of six ( Groupe A and Groupe B ) and played a simple round-robin tournament in these . The number of team points (3 points for a win, 2 points for a draw, 1 point for a defeat, 0 points for a defeat without a fight) first decided on the placement, then the direct comparison, then the difference between winning and losing games and ultimately the number of winning games. The last two in each group were relegated to National I, while the first two in each group qualified for the final round. This was carried out in the knockout system , with third place also being played out.
