Top 12 2011/12

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Top 12 2011/12 was the 32nd French team championship in chess .

The champions were the Club de Clichy-Echecs-92 , while the defending champion Club de Marseille Echecs had to be content with fourth place. The Club de Bischwiller , the Club de Grasse Echecs and the Club de L'Echiquier Deauvillais had risen from the Nationale I. While Bischwiller and Grasse achieved relegation, Deauville had to relegate together with the Club de Echiquier Guingampais directly. There was no third relegation this season, as only eleven teams took part and the planned league strength of twelve teams should be reached again for the 2012/13 season. For the reported team squad see team squad of the top 12 2011/12 .

Game dates

The competitions were played centrally in Belfort from May 31 to June 10, 2012 .

Season course

This time Clichy was in a class of her own, won all competitions and was already the champion before the last round. In the relegation battle, Guingamp's relegation was already certain ahead of time, while the question of who was relegated was only decided in the last round against Deauville.
