Topdog

According to Johan Galtung, topdogs are those in power at the head of a feudal structure (in contrast to the underdogs , i.e. those who “use the saw when cutting wood out of the pit”). The term v. a. through Urs Widmer's drama Top Dogs (first performance 1996, book 1997).
