Alfred Andersen-Wingar
Alfred Nikolai Andersen-Wingar (born October 15, 1869 in Kristiania , † April 21, 1952 in Oslo) was a Norwegian composer.
Andersen-Wingar studied in Oslo with Johannes Haarklou and in Paris until Jules Massenet and André Gedalge . He was initially a violinist and later switched to the viola . He was violist in the Philharmonic Orchestra of Kristiania and conducted the folk symphony concerts from 1911 to 1918.
The late romantic composer wrote the operas Frithjof og Ingeborg and The Old Method , operettas , stage music, overtures for the Henrik Ibsen pieces Hedda Gabler and Bygmester Solness , orchestral fantasies and suites, four symphonies , two violin concertos and songs .
