A potting machine is used for semi-automatic potting of plants .

It consists of an earth container that is filled with earth, a conveyor belt that transports the earth to a chute and guides the earth into the pots. The pots themselves are loaded on a magazine and slide in sequence on z. B. a round system that transports the pots to the chute.

After the pots have been filled, holes are drilled for the plants with a drilling system, the soil is supplied with fertilizer and passed on to a conveyor belt. People or robots stand here and put plants into the holes. Top machines can fill up to 7000 pots per hour.

Mayer Maschinenbau, based in Heidenheim an der Brenz , invented the potting machine in 1967 . The process chain in commercial horticulture is now completely organized and the potting machine is an important link in this series.
