Topfreedom is the generic term for a political-cultural movement within the framework of gender equality , which advocates that women and girls should have the same right as men and boys to be able to show themselves bare-chested in public. It consists in addition for the right of women to public breastfeeding and topless sunbathe. Associated organizers and organizations include GoTopless , the Topfree Equal Rights Association in the USA, Bara Bröst in Sweden and the Topless Front in Denmark .

A Go Topless Day (also National Go Topless Day , International Go Topless Day ) is mostly celebrated around the US Women's Equality Day on August 26th.

The GoTopless organization was founded in Nevada by journalist and UFO believer Claude Vorilhon , also known as Raël. GoTopless has since established itself in other countries as well.

Events

The Go Topless Day (also National Go Topless Day , International Go Topless Day ) is an annual event that supports women in enforcing topless freedom. The event was set up in 2007 by the American organization Go Topless .

The first Go Topless Day took place in the USA in 2008, in Canada in 2011 and 2012 on August 26th in the USA , Canada, France , the Netherlands and Switzerland . The Topfree Equal Rights Association in the USA supports affected women in legal disputes and holds demonstrations. In Sweden the activists of Bara Bröst became known for similar actions, in Denmark the Topless Front .
