A torselet (also torselet or torselette ) is a piece of clothing in female underwear . In contrast to the corsage , which extends from the breasts to the waist, the torselette extends to the hips, thus enveloping the female torso. It usually has no lacing like the corset . Sewn-in rods support and shape the female breast and waist. There are versions with and without shoulder straps. Most torselets are equipped with - often removable - suspenders . A neat design with fabrics such as lace or satin in different colors is common.
