A cake stand is usually an elevated plate for storing pastries. Their function is to present or store pies and cakes . That is why they are usually used in the context of celebrations such as weddings, anniversaries or birthdays. Cake stands are available in many designs and designs. Most famous are probably the cake stands with a centered foot.

Cake stands are only designed for single cakes or cakes of different sizes. The cake stands, on the other hand, are to be distinguished from cake stands. These have at least two levels for placing the cakes. The individual cakes do not necessarily have to be stacked on top of one another, but can also be offset from one another in height. A large part of the étagères has a central column with which the individual levels are firmly connected. In many cases, a holding device is attached to the tip, which makes it possible to transport the cake stand. Strictly speaking, several cake stands stacked on top of each other also result in a cake stand. However, the central mounting element is then missing.

There are now also stands and mounting devices designed for other types of baked goods. These include cupcake stands and cake pop stands.
