job

As a sculptor, he creates sculptures and installations from different materials such as bronze , aluminum and various plastics . The unmistakable abstract and partly amorphous forms are created in the process of “controlled chance”, when hot wax is poured into water and drawn into it. These hardened "raw forms" are then provided with wax, everyday objects and natural forms such as toothpicks or branches . Experimenting with different materials and casting techniques are an essential part of his work process.

"The overall appearance of the sculpture is consistently abstract, as a result of an overgrowth, a growth, the closest analogies of which we find in nature itself, for example in the form of a coral reef. Nevertheless, reference is made to the creative influence of the artist, whose handwriting is materially Sculpture condensed: a sculptural approach that defies the classic term. " Florian Steininger

Karner is also artistically active in choreography and drawing. The different media are mixed together and the boundaries are dissolved. For example, he dips paper drawings in wax, which changes the graphics in a painterly and sculptural manner. The sculptures are closely related to the choreography . The forms are created through performative processes that can be read as such. The works also work together in an installation within an exhibition . Since 2005, the artist Linda Samaraweerová has also created cross-genre projects between visual and performing arts , which are made up of sculpture , installation, performance (art) , dance , theater , video and film . In 2013 the art space "KS Room" was founded in Kornberg . This is managed by Karner himself and is dedicated to changing contemporary art exhibitions.
