reception

laut.de awarded 4 out of 5 stars. Simon Langemann wrote that Expedition into the O sounded “like a low budget, wild determination and bubbling creativity” and woke up the desire “to see [this] spectacle on stage as soon as possible”.

Thomas Winkler awarded 5 out of 6 stars for the Musikexpress . The lyrics "[oscillated] weightlessly between wisdom and madness", he described the beats as "imaginatively clattering and crashing between neo-folk and Augsburger Puppenkiste".

In the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung , Klaus Ungerer saw expedition into the O in the tradition of the “popular and notorious German head pop”. Its “dilemma” of “social positioning and sharpness of thought” and “the will to rock” are taken to extremes in the album: On the one hand, there is “radio, rumbling, rocking, rapping and jazzing like you do with German pop has never experienced ”, on the other hand,“ [no longer the description of society from afar ”is the subject of the album, but“ the universe ”. The question arises as to whether the lyrics are “really carried by a controlled, punch-loving lust for distance” or rather “the gaze of someone who is torn away from all contexts against their will”.

Commercial win

Expedition ins O reached number 60 on the German album charts.
