Totally Integrated Automation

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Totally Integrated Automation ( TIA ) is an organizational concept from the manufacturer Siemens that was introduced in 1996 and has been further developed since then.

Example of an automation pyramid

This concept defines the interaction of various individual automation components, software tools and associated services (spare parts service, etc.) to form an integrated automation solution . TIA enables continuity of the four automation levels of the automation pyramid :

  1. Company level (management level)
  2. Operations management level (operations management level)
  3. Control level (control)
  4. Field level (field)

The consistency of TIA offers the companies involved in the value chain ( OEM , system integrators , planners and end customers ) a simplification and cost savings.
