A dead Angel or corpse Angel is a device for recovering water bodies or objects from the bottom of the aquatic environment .

Death rods consist of a row of three- or four-pronged hooks ( dragons ) that are evenly spaced on a cross member using short chains or lines. The cross member is connected to the search boat by a floating line. The fishing rod is pulled from the search boat in regular lanes over the bottom of the water to be searched, whereby in the best case the search objects can get caught in the dragons and be pulled on board. Dead fishing or corpse fishing are part of the equipment used by fire brigades to rescue water and are used, among other things, to search for suspected water bodies where the use of divers is not possible or useful.
