The traditional site of the Talsperre des Friedens was a museum in what is now the Sosa district of the city of Eibenstock in the Ore Mountains region . It was built in the half-timbered style in the late 1960s in close connection with the two restaurants Meiler and Köhlerhütte just outside the village in the immediate vicinity of the Sosa Dam and inaugurated in May 1969. The exhibits are reminiscent of the history of dam construction 1949–1952. More than 10,000 visitors visited the traditional site every year. After 1989 this small museum was closed and the exhibits disappeared. The building of the former traditional site is now used as a residential building.
