Transfer press

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Transfer presses (also known as thermal presses ) are the most important tools for transferring texts, images, logos or fashionable motifs onto textiles or other materials. Thermal presses are also used to fix different media. A distinction is made between toggle presses and swing presses .

A toggle press (also called a clam press) works in the smallest of spaces and opens and closes the heating plate like a crocodile's mouth. However, this technique has the disadvantage that high pressures cannot be achieved due to the design.

A swivel press (also known as a swinger press) applies the maximum pressure to the medium. The heating plate is swiveled parallel over the base plate. This has the advantage that an even pressure on the entire floor surface is guaranteed.

Transfer presses are offered as manual, electromagnetic, pneumatic or hydraulic solutions.
