Translucency

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Transliminality (Latin made-up word with the literal meaning: "to go over the threshold" ) is a psychological concept developed by the Australian psychologist Michael Thalbourne (1955-2010, University of Adelaide ), who was heavily involved in parapsychological research. The concept offers the possibility of grasping different constructs at the same time, such as openness to paranormal experiences, creativity, belief in paranormal, manic and mystic experiences. The common factor underlying these constructs is transliminality. Thalbournes scale was translated into German in 2011 by the psychologist Sebastian Bartoschek and evaluated.
