Transports du Val-de-Ruz

The Compagnie des Transports du Val-de-Ruz (VR) is a former transport company in the canton of Neuchâtel in Switzerland. Until 1947 their company name was Compagnie du Chemin de fer Régional du Val-de-Ruz et Compagnie des Autotransport du Val-de-Ruz . In 1999 the company merged into the company TRN SA , which in turn merged in 2012 to form Transports Publics Neuchâtelois, or transN for short , which now serves Val-de-Ruz with buses.

Transport offers

  • From 1903 to 1948 the company operated the Les Hauts-Geneveys – Villiers tram .
  • From 1948 to 1984 the Val de Ruz trolleybus operated on the former tram route and from 1949 to 1969 on the Cernier – Valangin route and from there to Neuchâtel in joint operation with TN , which is now also part of transN.
  • From 1920 the Cernier – Valangin line was served by buses. Lines to Grand-Savagnier and Landeyeux were added later, and finally (again) the former electrical network.
