Trappist convent La Paz (La Palma-Cartagena)
The Trappist Monastery of La Paz has been a Trappist monastery in La Palma (Cartagena), City of Cartagena , Murcia region , in Spain since 1977 .
history
A pious local donor made it possible in 1974 (officially 1977) to found the Nuestra Señora de la Paz (Maria Frieden) monastery in La Palma through the then overflowing Trappist monastery Alloz . After she had financed the church building inaugurated in 1978 by selling her house, she lived in the monastery and died there in 1984. The monastery ( abbey since 1978 ) is located southwest of La Palma ( Carril de los Vidales 20) not far from the Autopista AP-7 . The sisters make decorative elements and porcelain. Previous abbesses: Pilar Morras (1978–2002) and Martina Benito Prado (2002–).
