An oath of allegiance or allegiance is an oath to a person or organization that swears allegiance to them.

Examples of oaths of loyalty:

• the oath of loyalty contained in the feudal oath
• the oath of allegiance as a loyalty expressions of soldiers
• formerly the MP's oath
• 1780: oath of allegiance to the civil constitution by the French clergy
• 1933: Oath of the German Roman Catholic local bishops before taking office in accordance with the Reich Concordat to the government
